The Canadian Rockies and Alaska’s Inside Passage, eons in the making, should occupy a top spot on any traveler’s must-see list. This breathtaking vacation highlights them both and includes a visit to the annual Calgary Stampede, celebrating its 100th anniversary this year! Your vacation begins in Seattle with a flight to Calgary, Alberta. Grab hold of the reins and get ready for a big ride as we head to the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, the Calgary Stampede. The next day's sights will blow your mind as we travel through the heart of the Canadian Rockies to Banff and later along the Icefields Parkway to Jasper, Alberta. The adventure continues with a VIA Rail journey to Prince George and Prince Rupert. And just as you feel you can't top the views, we'll board the Alaska Maine ferry for an incredible cruise through the Inside Passage to Ketchikan, Alaska. Keep an eye out for whales, eagles and bears. Next, spend two nights in Ketchikan and enjoy a cruise through Misty Fjords.

Day 1 - Seattle to Calgary Stampede
The fun begins as we fly from Seattle to Calgary. Upon arrival, we’ll check into our hotel and then head to the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, the Calgary Stampede! You’ll have some time to wander the grounds before the thrilling Chuckwagon Races and the 2012 Grandstand Show featuring singing, dancing, Cirque du Soleil acrobatics, daredevil motocross stunts, comedy routines, drumming, magical special effects and a stunning fireworks display! Overnight Calgary.

Day 2 – Calgary / Banff
Depart Calgary for Banff National Park. In a short distance, the rolling hills will turn into towering mountains. Spend the afternoon at leisure seeing the sights including Cave and Basin National Historic Site, Bow Falls, Sulphur Mountain, and more. Overnight Banff. (B)

Day 3 – Icefields Parkway: Banff to Jasper
Today travel one of the world’s most awe-inspiring highways, the Icefields Parkway connecting Banff and Jasper. Spectacular snow-domed peaks, waterfalls, lakes and wildlife compete for your attention. Stop near the gigantic Athabasca Glacier and experience the thrill of a Sno-Coach ride on this behemoth of ice before completing your journey north past thundering Athabasca Falls to Jasper. Day 4 – VIA Rail to Prince George
Enjoy a leisurely morning in Jasper before boarding your VIA Rail train for the two-day journey from the rugged splendor of Jasper National Park and the Canadian Rockies to the haunting beauty of the Pacific Coast. Departing from Jasper, the train cuts across the Rockies, arriving in Prince George. Overnight Prince George. (B, L, D)

Day 5 – Prince George to Prince Rupert by Train
Board the train this morning and complete your train journey to Prince Rupert. Drink in the stunning scenery comprised of lakes, mountains, forests, farms and sawmills from panoramic windows aboard the train. Overnight Prince Rupert. (B, L, D)

Day 6 – Ferry to Ketchikan
Prince Rupert is surrounded by stunning mountains, nestled at the mouth of the Skeena River with its magnificent fjord-like coastline. Next, board the ferry for a cruise to Ketchikan. Have your camera handy to snap pictures of whales, seals and otters. Six hours later, arrive in Ketchikan, Alaska for a two-night stay. Overnight Ketchikan. (B)

Day 7 – Misty Fjords Cruise
This high-speed catamaran cruise to the heart of the 3,570-square-mile Monument provides an opportunity to view Misty Fjords from a dramatic perspective. A naturalist will provide in-depth commentary on the area as you cruise past a mysterious Native pictograph, Punchbowl Cove with its columnar basalt formations and the colorful Mossy Wall bird rookery. Enjoy the dramatic landmark New Eddystone Rock, an ancient volcanic plug that juts up 237 feet from the water. Watch for mountain goats, bears, eagles, Guillemots and other seabirds. You will be surrounded by cliffs towering thousands of feet and view waterfalls cascading into emerald waters. Overnight Ketchikan. (B)

Day 8 – Fly to Seattle
Enjoy a leisurely morning and time to see more of the town before we head to the airport for a quick flight to Seattle for connections home. (B)
