Day One - Calgary - The Heart of the New West
Get set for adventure in the old Canadian West. Calgary showcased its best when it served as host of the 1988 Winter Olympics. Before or after your adventure, take some time to explore this cosmopolitan city and visit Calgary Tower, the Olympic Park, Calgary Zoo and Fort Calgary as well as their many museums and art galleries. Board your luxury train from the Canadian Pacific Railway Pavilion in downtown. Meet your traveling companions during cocktails and dinner as you watch the sun set on this unparalleled mountainous terrain.

Day 2 - Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park
After a picturesque train ride and brief motorcoach excursion, arrive in the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park. This UNESCO World Heritage Site represents a symbol of peace and friendship between the United States and Canada. The ecological biosphere reserves, rare wild flowers, fascinating geology and unspoiled beauty will simply take your breath away. Experience the most unique international border crossing ever as you cruise roundtrip on the Waterton Lakes from Waterton, Alberta to Goat Haunt, Montana. Continue on through the massive Rockies at famous Crowsnest Pass, a historic mountain trail way.

Day 3 - Cross the Continental Divide to Fort Steele, British Columbia
Get a historic perspective of Canadian rail travel at the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel in Cranbrook. See firsthand the changes in rail decor, service and style since the Canadian Pacific Railway first began running. You’ll be fascinated with the rail car restoration process which demonstrates how your own Royal Canadian Pacific rail cars have been refurbished. You’re in for a special treat tonight as we stop in Golden for a superb dinner at the Kicking Horse Resort’s Eagle Eye restaurant, overlooking the mountains at some 7,000 feet.

Day 4 - Lake Louise - “Diamond in the Wilderness” As the train climbs through Kicking Horse Pass, you’ll be struck by the awesome panoramic vistas from your open air vestibule. This tremendous engineering feat known as the “Spiral Tunnels” has enabled trains to pass through this area safely since the early 20th century. In the emerald green Lake Louise, you’ll enjoy a full day of sightseeing and recreation. Will you opt for a boat ride? Hike the trails? Look for wildlife? Or, just stop in the Lake Louise Visitor’s Center for a history of the area. No matter what your pleasure, your day is destined to be glorious!

Day 5 - Banff, Alberta - Capital of the Canadian Rockies
Today we start on our journey back to Calgary, with a stop in Banff National Park, a 2,500 mile protected wilderness with year-round recreation. Along the way, see vistas of Bow Valley with its magnificent mountain peaks. Visit the exquisite Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, considered the “Castle of the Rockies.” Listen as local interpreters tell you stories about the area’s history and culture. Spend free time in the world-renowned town of Banff, with its historic hotels and wonderful shopping along the main street. Enjoy your farewell dinner onboard and arrive in Calgary for an overnight stay.

Day 6: - Depart for home
After breakfast and checkout, return to the Calgary International Airport for your return flights home. You’ll be filled with cherished memories of breathtaking scenery, pristine wildlife and a sense of historic wonder.

We suggest that guests arrive in Calgary one day prior to departure. The city has many famous attractions including Fort Calgary, the Glenbow Museum, the Calgary Zoo, Calgary Tower, Canada Olympic Park, and more than 20 golf courses.
