Day One
You are chauffeured from Calgary International Airport to the landmark Fairmont Palliser Hotel and check in on the exclusive Gold Floor. Your invitation awaits to a private reception in the Canadian Pacific Railway Pavilion. Afterwards, enjoy dinner in the Fairmont’s exclusive Rimrock Dining Room. Overnight in Calgary.
Day Two
After breakfast, the train travels west through the Canadian Rockies. A stop at historic Banff Station provides for a guided tour of local notable sites. Next is High Tea as you travel in royal luxury to Lake Louise for an interpretive hike with a resident naturalist. The train continues west across the Continental Divide, through the famous Spiral Tunnels to Field, then along the Kicking Horse River Valley. At Golden, overnight alongside the calming cadence of the Kicking Horse River.
Day Three
A tastefully-appointed motorcoach whisks you to Kicking Horse Resort for a gondola ride to the summit of Eagle’s Eye Mountain. Enjoy a private breakfast in the summit restaurant, with a 360-degree view of the Rocky and Purcell Mountains. Return to the train and enjoy a relaxing day traveling south through the Columbia River Valley to Cranbrook, then enjoy an enlightening private tour of the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel. Indulge in a
gourmet dinner as the train continues south and overnights at Summit Lake on the Continental Divide.
Day Four
Continue on a gentle descent to the Alberta prairies as a scrumptious breakfast is served. The train stops at Fort Macleod to visit Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to the train at Lethbridge for a breathtaking crossing of the High Level Bridge. Overnight at Carmangay, in the heart of the Alberta prairies.
Day Five
After a short train ride to Okotoks, a luxury motorcoach transfers you to Homeplace Ranch, unique to high cattle country since 1912. Enjoy a guided horseback tour or a scenic walk around the family-owned ranch and savour a western lunch. Return to the train for the final leg of the excursion, reaching Calgary by mid-afternoon. Check in on the Gold Floor of the Fairmont Palliser and enjoy a celebratory farewell dinner at your leisure in the hotel.
Day Six
After breakfast and checkout, a chauffeur returns you to the Calgary International Airport, marking the end of your journey on the Royal Canadian Pacific.
