Eastbound Itinerary - Vancouver to Calgary
Day 1 Arrival - Vancouver
Arrive in Vancouver and spend time exploring this scenic city on your own. Overnight in Vancouver.
Day 2 Vancouver to Kamloops
Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Kamloops. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Overnight in Kamloops. (B, L)
Day 3 Kamloops to Banff
Your journey continues eastwards to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Highlights include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, Rogers Pass, the Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and the glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Day 4 Banff At Your Leisure
Spend the entire day exploring Banff National Park on your own. Optional activities include a nature walk on nearby mountain trails, visiting Banff's historic museums, cruising on Lake Minnewanka or playing a round of golf at The Fairmont Banff Springs (additional costs). Overnight in Banff.
Day 5 Banff to Lake Louise
Enjoy a half-day tour into Yoho National Park. Among the many natural attractions are the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and a natural rock bridge that spans the Kicking Horse River. The tour ends in Lake Louise, where the remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure. Overnight at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
Day 6 Icefields & Glaciers Experience
Today get ready for an amazing full-day tour of the dramatic Icefields Parkway and a breathtaking helicopter tour. Your day begins with a visit to the Columbia Icefield, one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle and one of the most accessible icefields in North America. Here you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of Athabasca Glacier to learn more about its geologic features. Your tour continues through the magnificent Canadian Rockies to Cline River for the highlight of the afternoon: a 25-minute helicopter flightseeing tour above the six glaciers of Mt. Resolute, Mount Cline and the Whitegoat Peaks. You will see a 900-foot waterfall, spectacular high-alpine lakes and 9,000-foot mountain pass. A visit to a local ranch and BBQ lunch is also included. Today's sightseeing tour ends upon arrival in Lake Louise with the remainder of the day at your leisure. Overnight at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. (L)
Day 7 Lake Louise to Calgary with Summit Helicopter
Begin the morning with a sightseeing tour of Banff. Among the points of interest are Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos. A trip on the Banff Gondola is included. Continue on to Kananaskis for a 12-minute Summit Helicopter Tour over the remarkable landscape of the Rockies, before your transfer to Calgary late this afternoon. Overnight in Calgary.
A price reduction of $119 will apply for the Summit Helicopter Tour in the event of inclement weather or if a guest chooses not to fly.
Day 8 Calgary
Your Canadian Rockies Adventures vacation ends with check-out from your Calgary hotel.
Westbound Itinerary - Calgary to Vancouver
Day 1 Calgary Arrival
Arrive in Calgary and spend the rest of the day sightseeing in the "Stampede City" on your own. Overnight in Calgary.
Day 2 Calgary to Lake Louise with Summit Helicopter
Depart Calgary this morning for a full-day tour concluding in Lake Louise. Journey to Kananaskis where you will enjoy the highlight of today, a 12-minute Summit Helicopter Tour over the remarkable landscape of the Rockies. Continue on to Banff for a sightseeing tour including Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos. A trip on the Banff Gondola is included. Your tour ends on arrival in world famous Lake Louise late this afternoon. Overnight at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
