Mountain Peaks and Glaciers Route Map

Day 1-2 Vancouver to Kamloops
Arrive into Vancouver to prepare for your next day rail excursion. Take in an evening walk along the ocean harbour or dine in Chinatown.

Day 2
It's onboard to the British Columbia interior. The 'Rocky Mountaineer' daylight train provides you with the best of train travel with great service and friendly attendants. An evening in Kamloops at your hotel and you're refreshed for your next day!

Day 3 Kamloops to Jasper
From here, the name of this vacation describes it all. Journey along the Thompson River and past the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Mt. Robson while enjoying breakfast and lunch onboard. Arrive in Jasper National Park and the town of Jasper in the afternoon. This cozy railway town is set perfectly amongst massive jagged peaks.

Day 4 Jasper to Banff
Today we travel along one of the most breathtaking roadways in the world-the Icefields Parkway. En route, we see many glaciers such as the Crowfoot Glacier, Athabasca Glacier, Victoria Glacier-as this is the road of over 100 glaciers. Arriving at the Columbia Icefield, this experience takes you on an Ice Explorer all-terrain vehicle upon ice that is 365 metres thick. Taste pure mountain water from a glacier and listen to the geological history of this massive landscape. Continue southward to cross into Banff National Park where the resort town of Banff is located.

Day 5 Banff
'Discover Banff' on a sightseeing excursion with a highlight ride up the Banff Gondola. From here, you are able to see six mountain ranges and stunning panoramic vistas.

Day 6 Banff to Calgary
A morning cruise on the scenic Lake Minnewanka is a great way to start your day. This afternoon, a short journey takes you into the western city of Calgary sits within the foothills of Alberta.
