Day 1 Vancouver
Arrive into Vancouver to prepare for your next day rail
excursion. Take in an evening walk along the ocean
harbour or dine in Chinatown.
Day 2
Board the ‘Rocky Mountaineer’ and journey through
fertile fields of the Fraser Valley, towering peaks of the
Coast Mountains and into Canada’s semi-arid desert.
Breakfast and lunch are enjoyed onboard, while the
evening is spent in hotel accommodation in Kamloops.
Day 3 Kamloops to Jasper
From here on, the name of this vacation describes it all.
Journey along the Thompson River and past the highest
peak in the Canadian Rockies, Mt. Robson. Arrive
in Jasper National Park and the town of Jasper in the
afternoon. This cozy railway town is set perfectly amongst
massive jagged peaks.
Day 4 Jasper to Banff
Travel along one of the most breathtaking roadways in the
world - the Icefields Parkway. En route, many glaciers are
visible such as the Crowfoot Glacier, Athabasca Glacier
and Victoria Glacier – this is the road to over 150 visible
glaciers. After taking in the Columbia Icefield Glacier
Experience, continue southward into Banff National Park
where the resort town of Banff is located.
Day 5 Banff
Explore the local highlights on a morning sightseeing
excursion of Banff, including a ride on the Banff Gondola
for spectacular mountain views. This afternoon, an
interpretive cruise on Lake Minnewanka will introduce
Banff National Park’s largest lake. Make sure to bring a
camera, as wildlife sightings are common.
Day 6 Banff to Calgary
A short journey through rolling foothills takes you to
the city of Calgary to complete your vacation.
