Day 2 – Rocky Mountaineer to Kamloops
Board the Rocky Mountaineer this morning for the scenic journey into the Canadian Rockies. Travel over mountain passes and along rocky lakeshores until you reach Kamloops, located in the heart of British Columbia’s interior, this evening. Highlights of the day’s train journey include the Spiral Tunnels, Kicking Horse Canyon, and Craigellachie, famous as the location where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven. Day 3 – Kamloops to Vancouver by Train
Continue your journey aboard the Rocky Mountaineer through the Canadian Rockies. Watch as the scenery shifts from the desert environment of British Columbia’s interior to lush forests and canyons as you travel through the Fraser River Valley. Highlights of today’s journey include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains. Day 4 – Vancouver
Today brings a full-day of sightseeing in the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver. Visit the city’s North Shore, experience a treetop adventure in the middle of a rainforest at the Capilano Suspension Bridge, travel to the top of Grouse Mountain for stunning views of the city below, and enjoy panoramic views of Vancouver’s outlying areas while learning interesting facts about the city at the Vancouver Lookout. Day 5 – Begin your Alaskan Adventure
Transfer on your own to Vancouver’s cruise terminal where you will board your Holland America cruise ship for the journey through Alaska’s Inside Passage. Settle into your onboard accommodations and wave good-bye to Vancouver as you set sail. Overnight ship. (D)
Day 6 – At Sea
Enjoy a relaxing day at sea as you cruise through Alaska’s dramatic Inside Passage. Take advantage of many activities aboard the ship including cooking demonstrations, a vast library, soothing spa services, lounges, exceptional dining, entertainment, and more. Overnight ship. (B, L, D)
Day 7 – Tracy Arm / Juneau
Today will find you sailing through the Tracy Arm fjord to see the twin Sawyer Glaciers, one of Alaska’s most dramatic sights. This afternoon’s port of call is Juneau, where there will be ample time to explore the rustic shops. Alternately, you may wish to take an optional excursion to the Juneau Icefields or go whale-watching. Overnight ship. (B, L, D)
Day 8 – Skagway
Travel back in time during your visit to Skagway today. Explore the town’s establishments, ranging from dry goods stores to the famous Red Onion Saloon. Or, visit the Trail of ’98 Museum and the Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park with its restored buildings and boardwalks. Overnight ship. (B, L, D)
Day 9 – Glacier Bay Scenic Cruising
Get your camera ready as you cruise through Glacier Bay today. Glacier Bay National Park protects a diverse ecosystem of plants and animals living in a constantly changing glacial landscape. Keep an eye and ear out for calving glaciers—truly a sight to behold! The area has more calving tidewater glaciers than anywhere else in the world. Overnight ship. (B, L, D)
Day 10 – Ketchikan
Today’s port of call is Ketchikan, an area known for its granite cliffs carved by deep water fjords created by retreating glaciers. During your visit, explore Creek Street or visit the Tongass Historical Museum, Totem Bight State Park, or Saxman Village. Overnight ship. (B, L, D)
Day 11 – Cruise Alaska’s Inside Passage
Another full day at sea finds you cruising through stunning scenery on your return to Vancouver, This full day at leisure provides an excellent opportunity to enjoy all of the ship’s luxurious amenities. Overnight ship. (B, L, D)
Day 12 – Vancouver
Arrive in Vancouver this morning and disembark the ship after breakfast. Centrally-located hotel accommodations can be arranged for travelers wishing to extend their stay in Vancouver. Or, transfer on your own to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
