Your 13-day escorted rail vacation begins in stunning Niagara Falls where you will spend the night to the awe-inspiring view of this famed destination before continuing a short distance north to the cosmopolitan city of Toronto. You will have ample time at leisure to discover the magnificence of this great town before boarding VIA Rail's Canadian to begin your rail journey to the gorgeous Jasper.
Spend three nights aboard the train, traveling through the spectacular Canadian countryside before reaching iconic Jasper National Park. Spend the night amidst the beauty of this mountain village. Continuing on from Jasper, take the legendary Icefield Parkway to Banff. Spend the next few days discovering this amazing resort town as you travel to the top of Sulphur Mountain by way of gondola, a trip to Yoho National Park to witness popular attractions like Bridal Veil Falls and the dazzling Lake Louise.
Following your time exploring Banff, make your way by rail to your next and final destination, the historic town of Vancouver. The day is yours to experience Vancouver at your own pace as you may wish to visit famed sights like Robson Street or Stanley Park. You may even chose to embark on a ferry ride to Victoria. From Vancouver you will make your way back home.

Day 1 - Niagara Falls
Arrive in Niagara Falls and check into your hotel, which offers beautiful views of the Falls. Overnight Niagara Falls.
Day 2 - Toronto
Today travel the short distance north to Toronto, stopping in historic Niagara on the Lake en route. Arrive in Toronto this afternoon and check into your hotel with the remainder of the day free to explore this cosmopolitan city. This evening's welcome dinner is at the acclaimed Canyon Creek Grill, a favorite haunt of the great and near-great in Toronto. Overnight Toronto. (D)
Day 3 - VIA Rail's Canadian
The day is yours to enjoy Toronto at your leisure. This evening we transfer to the train station and board VIA Rail's legendary Canadian. Settle into your onboard accommodations and prepare for the journey west. This train is a perfect 1950's time capsule with the famed Vista-dome cars, an old-fashioned dining car and first-rate meals and service. Join your fellow travelers tonight for cocktails in the swank "Bullet Lounge" located at the end of the train. Overnight train. (B, D)
Day 4 - VIA Rail West to Jasper
All day is spent crossing the Canadian Prairies aboard VIA Rail's Canadian. Enjoy the scenery from the train's observation lounge as you get acquainted with your fellow travelers. Overnight train. (B, L, D)
Day 5 - Aboard the Canadian
Another day on the train en route to Jasper as the Canadian speeds across the great prairielands over the Canadian National Railway. Overnight train. (B, L, D)
Day 6 - Jasper National Park
After lunch, the Canadian begins its ascent of the eastern slope of the Rockies--a sight that is not to be missed. This afternoon the train arrives in Jasper. Transfer to your hotel located in the heart of this magical mountain hamlet. The remainder of the day is yours to relax in this glorious setting. Overnight Jasper. (B, L)
Day 7 - Jasper / Banff
A stunning day of sightseeing awaits you as you travel to Banff via the famed Columbia Icefield Parkway. Enjoy a ride on the Glacier itself on the Ice Explorer before arriving in the resort town of Banff later today. Overnight Banff. (B)
Day 8 - Banff National Park
Today brings a full day to enjoy Banff beginning with a gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain followed by a visit to the Banff Hot Springs, a natural attraction that has made this village famous. Later tonight, enjoy a special dinner at Le Beaujolais. Overnight Banff. (B, D)
Day 9 - Explore Banff
Another magical day awaits you in Banff as you embark on a sightseeing tour to Yoho National Park. Highlights of your day include Bridal Veil Falls, Moraine Lake and Lake Louise. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to explore Banff on your own. Overnight Banff. (B, L)
Day 10 - Banff at Leisure
Your final day in Banff is at your leisure. Sleep in and enjoy Banff at your own pace. Overnight Banff. (B)
Day 11 - Depart for Vancouver
Depart for Jasper this morning, enjoying a special sightseeing tour north over the Icefields Parkway stopping at Peyto Lake and Sunwapta Falls en route. Enjoy a special lunch before boarding VIA Rail's Canadian for the westbound journey to Vancouver. This portion of your train trip will feature spectacular views of the Rockies. Drinks in the classic observation lounge are a highlight tonight followed by dinner in the dining car. Overnight train. (B, L, D)
Day 12 - Vancouver
The Canadian arrives in Vancouver after breakfast. Embark on a brief sightseeing tour of Canada's third largest city. The balance of the day is at your leisure. You may wish to visit Robson Street with its many shops, galleries and boutiques and famous Stanley Park with its commanding views. Or, you may wish to take a scenic day trip by ferry to Victoria.
