Discovering six countries in seven days, this intimate introduction to Europe compares its big players, France and Germany, and their smaller neighbours, Switzerland and The Netherlands. It's Insider moments like… smelling sawdust in the air as German clockmakers craft cuckoo clocks in front of you. A storybook setting in the Black Forest, the drive feels like it's straight from the pages of a Hansel and Gretel pop-up book. And Bavarian stories are played out in the carvings of the clocks made in front of you - with their mechanisms, moving parts and musical cuckoo bellows. Often designed to look little Swiss chalets, it's apt you're sleeping in the Alpine town of Lucerne that night.
