Day 1 - Depart USA for Paris
Board your international flight for the journey across the Atlantic Ocean. (Air travel not included in tour cost)
Day 2 - Arrive in Paris
Welcome to the City of Light! Upon arrival, the day is yours to begin to explore the city. Meet your tour manager and fellow travelers this evening for a welcome reception followed by a drive to see some of the most famous Parisian landmarks lit for all to see. Overnight Hilton La Defense. (R)
Day 3 - Paris Sightseeing
Todayís sightseeing tour takes you to the most popular attractions throughout Paris. See the Champs Élysees, Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde, and Notre Dame Cathedral as well as stunning views of the skyline from the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to shop, explore Parisís diverse neighborhoods, and indulge in a fine meal or sweet treat. Overnight Hilton La Defense. (BB)
Day 4 - TGV to Avignon
Board the high-speed TGV train for the journey through the heart of France, past the rolling vineyards of Burgundy and into the Rhône Valley. This afternoon, see the UNESCO World Heritage Roman aquaduct, Pont du Gard, before embarking on a city orientation tour of Avignon including views of the impressive Palace of the Popes. Day 5 - Arles / Aix-en-Provence
This morningís scenic drive takes you to Arles, one-time home of Vincent Van Gogh. Marvel at the Roman Amphitheatre and Romanesque cathedral during your walking tour of the city. Next, travel through the Provençal countryside and the southern part of the Luberon to lunch in a beautiful ìbastideî set amongst the vineyards. Later, a short drive brings you to the elegant city of Aix-en-Provence, where an orientation tour highlights the Cours Mirabeau with all its wonderful shops and cafes. Overnight Escale Oceania. Day 6 - St. Tropez / Cannes / Nice
Todayís sightseeing takes you to some of the most popular towns in the South of France. First, travel across the scenic hills to the coastal resort town of St. Tropez for some free time in the playground of the rich and famous. Continue on to Cannes, the jewel in the Côte díAzur, and see the Film Festival Centre on the sophisticated Boulevard de la Croisette. End the day with an orientation tour of Nice, including a drive along Promenade des Anglais, views of Place Masséna, the Old Town and the port. Day 7 - Monaco
The morning is at your leisure to stroll along the Promenade or shop in the cityís chic boutiques. Later today, embark on the scenic drive to the Principality of Monaco. See the palace of the ruling Grimaldi family and the cathedral where the late Princess Grace and Prince Rainier were married. Overnight Beau Rivage. (BB)
Day 8 - Route Napolean to Lyon
Drive along part of the Route Napolean inland to the town of Sisteron. Take the alpine route along the Col de la Croix to Lyon, Franceís second largest city also known as the one of the greatest gastronomic cities in the world. Overnight Novotel Lyon Gerland. (BB)
Day 9 - Beaune / Paris
Journey via the vineyards to Beaune, where there is ample time to shop for souvenirs as well as enjoy a special tasting of regional wines. Tonight savor a special farewell dinner with your tour manager and fellow travelers. Overnight Courtyard Marriott Neuilly. (BB, D)
Day 10 - Tour Conclusion
Your great tour of France ends today. Bid adieu to Paris, your fellow travelers and tour manager after breakfast this morning. (BB)
Special Notes: The December 20 departure will celebrate Christmas in Nice, where you will enjoy a festive meal with all the trimmings. The December 27 departure will celebrate New Yearís Eve in the enchanting Provençal town of Aix-en-Provence. Enjoy the party atmosphere after a delicious dinner of local specialties at a well-known local restaurant. This special dinner will replace the included dinner in Avignon on Day 4.
