Day 1 - All Aboard the Southwest Chief
Board the iconic Southwest Chief from Chicago's historic Union Station, settle into your seat and prepare for your 3:15 pm departure. Take time this evening to meet your fellow travelers, grab a bite to eat in the Lounge or Dining Cars and simply relax as the train makes its way southwest this evening. Overnight train.

Day 2 - En Route to Flagstaff
Enjoy the passing scenery as you travel through eight states on your way to Arizona. The Sightseer Lounge, the train's glass-walled viewing car, offers unmatched views! You're scheduled to arrive in Flagstaff just before 9:00 pm. Overnight La Quinta Inn.

Day 3 - The Grand Canyon
This morning's excursion takes you to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, the Grand Canyon. Your tour of the South Rim provides incredible views of this outstanding chasm carved over millennia. Later, travel to Phoenix, home of the Cactus League and Major League Baseball's spring training. Days 4-7 - Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox Spring Training
Batter up! Arizona is home to the Major League's Desert League. The air is filled with anticipation for a new baseball season every March when Spring Training is the talk of the town. Enjoy three Spring Training baseball games featuring your favorite team, the Chicago Cubs or the Chicago White Sox. Just tell us which team you prefer when you make your reservation. (Seating locations and opponents will be confirmed once the spring training schedule is announced in January.)

During these days, there will also be free time so you can take time to explore the surrounding area. You can take a coach transfer to historic Old Town Scottsdale for a self-guided walking tour of this wonderful desert city or you may wish to embark on an optional jeep tour of the desert. Day 8 - Sedona's Red Rocks
Travel to the magical town of Sedona today. Take time to browse the many eclectic shops and galleries, stroll the quaint streets and drink in the beauty of this town set amongst Arizona's beautiful red rocks. Later, enjoy a drive through spectacular Oak Creek Canyon en route to Flagstaff. Overnight La Quinta Inn. (B, D)

Day 9 - Southwest Chief to Chicago
Sit back, relax and revel in the new memories made during your week at Spring Training as Amtrak's Southwest Chief transports you through the colorful landscapes of Arizona and New Mexico north toward Chicago. Overnight train.

Day 10 - Arrival in Chicago
The Southwest Chief arrives in Chicago's Union Station this afternoon, where your Spring Training getaway comes to an end.
