Day 1 - California Zephyr to San Francisco
Arrive at Chicago’s historic Union Station and prepare for your 1:50 pm departure aboard the legendary California Zephyr bound for San Francisco. As the train begins the 2,400+ mile journey across the country, get acquainted with the train’s features including the glass-walled Sightseer Lounge offering stunning views of the passing scenery. Day 2 - California Zephyr and the Rockies
Stunning views of the Colorado Rockies await you this morning as the Zephyr climbs the front range of the Rockies. Keep an eye out for wildlife and enjoy the breathtaking scenery from your onboard accommodations, or opt for a more panoramic setting in the Sightseer Lounge. Overnight train. (B, L, D)
Day 3 - Over the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the Bay
The train arrives in Reno, Nevada mid-morning and continues across the border into California, climbing through the legendary Donner Pass, the high point in the northern Sierra Nevada Mountains. The California Zephyr is scheduled to arrive in Emeryville around 4:10 pm this afternoon. Upon arrival, hop a shuttle for your transfer to the San Francisco Ferry building, where you can take a taxi to your hotel near the acclaimed Fisherman’s Wharf. Overnight San Francisco. (B, L)
Day 4 - San Francisco Sightseeing / Grand Princess to Mexico
Store your luggage at the hotel following your morning check-out and make your way to Pier 43 1/2. Here you board a coach or double-decker bus for a sightseeing tour of the city, hitting all of San Francisco’s hot spots. Highlights include the Presidio, Twin Peaks, Mission Dolores, Nob Hill, Union Square, Chinatown, and North Beach. Afterwards, collect your luggage and make your way to the cruise port to board the Grand Princess and prepare for your 4:00 pm sailing. Overnight ship. (D)
Day 5-6 - At Sea
With two days at sea, you can elect to be active one day and do nothing the next. The Grand Princess offers a smorgasbord of activities from a personal enrichment or yoga class to rejuvenating spa treatments and relaxing pools. Check out the ship’s world-class art collection or peruse the large selection of fine items for that perfect gift at the on-board duty-free shop. Enjoy delightful dining experiences and fantastic after-dinner entertainment that ranges from live shows and the onboard casino to a variety of lounges for music, dancing or cozy post-meal cocktails. Day 7 - Cabo San Lucas
Welcome to Mexico! Today's port of call is Cabo San Lucas. You can swim in the warm waters, relax on one of the white-sand beaches or try sportsfishing, some of the finest in the world. Your ship will anchor in Cabo San Lucas, and will use launches to transport passengers ashore. Overnight ship. (B, L, D)
Day 8 - Loreto
Today finds you in Loreto. This beautiful town located on the Sea of Cortez offers much to see and do. Go whale watching, visit colonial missions, or simply enjoy the beach. Overnight ship. (B, L, D)
Day 9 - La Paz
John Steinbeck's novel, "The Pearl," featured this seaside paradise. Explore the town and its wonderful restaurants and cultural sights or relax at one of its renowned beaches during your day in this delightful city. Overnight ship. (B, L, D)
Day 10 - Puerto Vallarta
Today’s port of call is Puerto Vallarta. This sleepy town became an international resort sensation after it made its appearance in the movie “Night of the Iguana” starring Richard Burton. Overnight ship. (B, L, D)
Day 11-13 - At Sea
Spend your next three days at sea exploring the ship and enjoying a plethora of on-board activities. Overnight ship. (B, L, D)
Day 14 - San Francisco
Your cruise comes to an end this morning when you dock in San Francisco. Transfer to the airport is included. Please make flight arrangements departing no earlier than noon. (B)

Port taxes of $108.57 are not included. Princess reserves the right to
impose a fuel supplement of up to $9 per person per day on all passengers if
the NYMEX oil price exceeds $70 per barrel, even if the fare has been paid
in full.
