Day 1 - Arrive in Seattle
Your tour begins in Seattle. Upon arrival, check into your hotel with the remainder of the day at your leisure. Overnight Westin Seattle.
Day 2 - Talgo to Vancouver
Travel to Vancouver this morning a board Amtrak's Talgo train. Upon arrival, embark on a sightseeing tour of this lovely city including Stanley Park, Chinatown, English Bay and colorful Robson Street before arriving at your hotel. Tonight enjoy a welcome dinner with your tour manager and fellow travelers. Overnight Hyatt Regency. (B, D)
Day 3 - Vancouver / VIA Rail's Canadian to Jasper
The day is yours to sleep in or see some of Vancouver's sights on your own. You may wish to stroll through historic Gastown or take a horse-drawn carriage ride through Stanley Park. Depart the hotel this evening, stopping for dinner before arriving at the rail station, where we will board VIA Rail's Canadian for the overnight trip to Jasper. The train is a perfect 1950's time capsule with its famed Vista-Dome cars and an old-fashioned dining car with first rate dining and service. Overnight train. (B, D)
Day 4 - Arrive in Jasper
This morning the Canadian begins its ascent of the western slope of the Rockies - a spectacle not to be missed! After lunch, the train pulls into gorgeous Jasper. We'll transfer to our hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight Chateau Jasper. (B, L)
Day 5 - Jasper National Park Sightseeing
This morning is at your leisure to sleep in or enjoy your peaceful surroundings. This afternoon embark on an excursion to beautiful Maligne Canyon and Maligne Lake with its haunting views of Spirit Island. This evening is at your leisure to enjoy the unhurried charm of this small town. Overnight Chateau Jasper. (B)
Day 6 - Icefields Parkway to Banff
Get ready for a day of stunning sights as you travel to Banff via the Columbia Icefields Parkway. A highlight is a ride on a glacier aboard a Sno-coach. Stop for lunch (on your own) en route before arriving at our hotel with the remainder of the day free to explore this resort town. Overnight Banff Park Lodge. (B)
Day 7 - Banff National Park Sightseeing
Spend the day exploring Banff beginning with a gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain followed by a visit to the Banff Hot Springs, which made this village famous. Later tonight, enjoy a special dinner at Le Beaujolais with your fellow travelers. Overnight Banff Park Lodge. (B, D)
Day 8 - Banff Sightseeing
Another day of sightseeing awaits! Today's tour takes you to neighboring Yoho National Park and Bridal Veil Falls, Moraine Lake and Lake Louise. This afternoon is at your leisure to enjoy Banff on your own. Overnight Banff Park Lodge. (B, L)
Day 9 - Glacier National Park
Enjoy the scenic drive south to the United States and Glacier National Park. Upon arrival, the remainder of the day is at your leisure to explore one of America's most-loved Park's. Overnight Grouse Mountain Lodge (Izaak Walton Inn for July and August departures). (B, L)
Day 10 - Glacier National Park
Depart this morning aboard one of the famed red open-air Jammer buses for a spellbinding day that finds us traversing the breathtaking Going-to-the-Sun Road over the Continental Divide. Later today, visit shimmering Lake McDonald for an afternoon boat ride. Overnight Grouse Mountain Lodge. (Izaak Walton Inn for July and August departures). (B)
Day 11 - Great Western Limited to Chicago
This morning board the Great Western Limited, a private vista-dome train, for the overnight journey to Chicago. Tonight enjoy a stylish cocktail reception and special farewell dinner aboard the train, served under the glass of the vista-dome. Overnight train. (D)
Day 12 - Arrive in Chicago
The Great Western Limited passes through St. Paul this morning and travels along the Mississippi River as you enjoy afternoon tea prior to your arrival in Chicago, where your tour comes to an end. (B, AT)
