Day 1: Welcome to Anchorage
Arrive in Anchorage today. This evening meet your tour director in your hotel's reception area. Overnight Sheraton Anchorage.

Day 2: Anchorage-Valdez
Meet your fellow travelers at this morning's welcome orientation. Today's travels take you through Palmer in the Matanuska Valley-where cabbages have been known to grow to more than 70 pounds in the 24-hour daylight-up over Tahneta Pass with wonderful vistas of Matanuska and Worthington Glaciers. Stop at Bridal Veil Falls before arriving in the seaside port of Valdez, often referred to as the "Switzerland of Alaska." Overnight Valdez Hotel. (B, D)

Day 3 - Cruise on Prince William Sound
Board your boat for a cruise on Prince William Sound and along the 3-mile face of Columbia Glacier. Keep an eye out for wildlife, including seals, sea otters, birds and whales! Before returning to Valdez, see the Trans-Alaska Pipeline Terminal, where supertankers are loaded with crude oil from Prudhoe Bay. Overnight Valdez Hotel. (B, L)

Day 4: Delta Junction / Fairbanks
Admire Alaska's breathtaking scenery as you travel along the Richardson Highway on the way to Fairbanks. Stop at Delta Junction, a living history homestead with a museum, original roadhouse and farm animals, along the way. Your travels continue west along the Alaska Highway to Alaska's second-largest city. Overnight Wedgewood Resort. (B, D)

Day 5: Discover Fairbanks
Today's sightseeing begins with a visit to the El Dorado Gold Mine. Ride the narrow gauge railroad and head into the mine's permafrost tunnel. Try your luck as you pan for gold. Later today, board the sternwheeler Discovery for a cruise on the Chena and Tanana Rivers with a stop at the Chena Indian Village to learn about Athabascan Native culture. You will also have the chance to meet Iditarod mushers and their famed dog teams to learn about breeding, training and the big race. Overnight Wedgewood Resort (B)

Day 6: Denali National Park
Board the world-famous Alaska Railroad for a journey through untamed wilderness. Your ride ends in Denali National Park, where Mt. McKinley, North America's highest peak, rises majestically over the Park's 6 million acres. The afternoon is at your leisure. This evening, enjoy song, dance and delicious food at the Denali Dinner Theater. Overnight Denali Bluffs. (B, D)

Day 7: Denali Wilderness Expedition
This morning is free to explore the Park on your own or take part in optional activities like a float trip down the Nenana River. Later, dress for comfort as you embark on a wilderness expedition through Denali National Park to seek our grizzly bear, caribou and other wildlife. Overnight Denali Bluffs. (B)

Day 8: Visit with Iditarod Sled Dogs / Anchorage
Continue your exploration of Denali National Park as you head south toward Anchorage. Stop along the way at Happy Trails Kennels, where you will meet an Iditarod competitor and learn how they race and care for their dogs. You will also see a demo on mushing complete with a mock Iditarod checkpoint and get a chance to play with the sled dogs! Upon arrival in Anchorage, embark on a city sightseeing tour. This evening, your tour director will host a special dinner. Overnight Sheraton Anchorage. (B, D)

Day 9: Kenai Fjords National Park
Experience one of the world's most scenic drives as you follow the south shore of Turnagain Arm to Seward. Upon arrival, board your vessel for a cruise of Kenai Fjords National Park. Keep an eye out for glaciers calving into the sea as well as frolicking wildlife including orcas, humpback whales and sea otters. Overnight Sheraton Anchorage. (B, L)

Day 10: Anchorage
Your great Alaskan adventure comes to a close after breakfast this morning. (B)
