Day 1 - Arrive in Boston
Arrive in Boston and transfer on your own to your hotel. Meet your tour manager and fellow travelers at 6:00 pm for a brief meeting followed by dinner on your own at one of Boston's fantastic restaurants. Overnight Boston.
Day 2 - Winnipesaukee Rail Excursion
We board our deluxe motorcoach this morning and travel to Meredith, NH for a fall foliage train excursion aboard the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad. Sit back and relax as the train travels along the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee with the vibrant colors of the surrounding foliage the perfect backdrop for the day's journey. Next, we make the scenic drive to Bretton Woods, along the Kancamagus Highway with the White Mountains as the backdrop for your journey. Overnight Bretton Woods. (B, L)
Day 3 - Mt. Washington Cog Railway / Conway Scenic Railroad
Today is brimming with great train adventures into the heart of fantastic foliage! We begin with an early morning excursion aboard the Mt. Washington Cog Railway. Travel to the highest peak in the northeast on North America's steepest train tracks to the summit of Mt. Washington. There will be a stop for lunch at Fabyan Station followed by a return trip aboard the 140-year-old Conway Scenic Railroad from Fabyan Station through Crawford Notch with its steep ravines and mountain peaks to North Conway. Day 4 - Quintessential Vermont / Quebec
Today we travel through New Hampshire into Vermont where our sightseeing includes visits to the Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks, and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory. Our day's journey concludes as we cross the US-Canada border in Quebec and check into our hotel. Overnight Montreal. (B)
Day 5 - Montreal Sightseeing
This morning's sightseeing tour of Montreal includes hundreds of must-see sights including Notre Dame Basilica, historic Old Montreal and Mont Royal. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to shop in the city's fashionable boutiques, explore the city's colorful neighborhoods, and indulge in some culinary delights. Overnight Montreal.
Day 6 - Montreal to Quebec City
After breakfast, we'll board a VIA Rail train for a 7:45 am departure to Quebec City. We're scheduled to arrive at 11:04 am. Enjoy lunch in the Old City followed by a Quebec City sightseeing tour where highlights include the Latin Quarter, the Plains of Abraham, the Fortifications, and Place Royale. Overnight Quebec City. Day 7 - Quebec City Today is free to explore Quebec City and its surroundings at your leisure. There is so much to see in a city that showcases its well-preserved past—dating back to 1608—alongside its modern day achievements. Or, you may wish to take an excursion outside the city. Quaint Baie-St-Paul is a short, scenic train ride away aboard the elegant Le Massif de Charlevoix and offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a relaxing lunch along the river followed by a leisurely walk through town with its century-old homes proudly on display. Dinner this evening is at the Manoir Parc de la Chute-Montmorency. We'll dine with breathtaking views of the great Montmorency Falls and Ile d'Orleans before us. Overnight Quebec City. (D)
Day 8 - Quebec City to Bar Harbor, ME
After breakfast, we'll depart Quebec City aboard our motorcoach, traveling a scenic route bursting with fall colors as we make our way across the US-Canada border and into the lovely state of Maine. Bar Harbor, the gateway to Acadia National Park, is our destination and home for the next two nights. Upon arrival, the evening is yours to enjoy Bar Harbor's shopping and dining scene. Day 9 - Acadia National Park
This morning we visit the oldest national park east of the Mississippi River, Acadia National Park. This seaside park takes in Mount Desert Island and surrounding smaller islands. During our explorations, we'll travel to the top of Cadillac Mountain for fantastic views of the ocean. We'll return to Bar Harbor this afternoon with the remainder of the day at leisure. This evening we'll enjoy a traditional New England Lobster Bake dinner. Overnight Bar Harbor. (B, D)
Day 10 - Coastal Drive to Rockport
After breakfast we embark on a scenic drive along the coast of Maine to Rockport, MA. Along the way, we'll stop at the Old Portland Market for lunch and shopping followed by a visit to Portland Head. Our last night on tour will be spent overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Cape Ann's historic grand hotel. Overnight Rockport. (B, D)
Day 11 - Tour Conclusion
Your tour comes to an end after breakfast today. Transfers are available for flights departing after 1:00 pm from Logan International Airport or trains departing after 1:30 pm from Boston South Station for your return travels home. (B)
