Explore some of Utah's finest natural wonders on this scenic 7-day tour. Your Red Cliffs rail adventure begins in Denver, where you will board the legendary California Zephyr for the daylight journey to Grand Junction. Upon arrival, transfer to the renowned Red Cliffs Lodge, your home base for 4 nights. From here, enjoy a rafting excursion along the Colorado River and visits to Dead Horse Point State Park, Canyonlands National Park, and Arches National Park. Your journey continues with a ride along Scenic Highway 12 with visits to Capitol Reef National Park, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and Bryce Canyon National Park.

Day 1 -Arrive in Denver
Make your way to Denver, Colorado and transfer on your own to your hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure. There will be time for shopping, browsing and dining this evening. Overnight Denver.
Day 2 -California Zephyr to Grand Junction / Moab
Transfer by taxi to the Amtrak station (included) and board the California Zephyr for your daylight ride to Grand Junction, Colorado. You will enjoy spending time in the very large glass dome area viewing the panoramic scenery of the magnificent countryside. Seeing the country by train is a very unique experience that ranges from relaxing in the dome area to socializing in the café/lounge. Delicious meals are available in the dining car. You will arrive at approximately 4:00 pm in Grand Junction. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide and transferred to the beautiful Red Cliffs Lodge, your home for the next 4 nights. The Red Cliffs Lodge is nestled high on the magnificent Red Rock Cliffs. A prime rib dinner is included this evening at the lodge. Overnight Moab.(D)
Day 3 -Raft Trip on the Colorado River
Depart this morning for a scenic raft trip on the Colorado River. Travel upstream from Red Cliffs and launch the rafts onto the Colorado River at Hittle Bottom backed by an astounding view of magnificent Fisher Towers. Calm waters on this journey provide relaxation and some time to learn about the unique geology of Castle Valley. After a wonderful float, you'll see Red Cliffs Lodge just around the bend signaling an end to the excursion. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the amenities and activities available at Red Cliffs Lodge. Your tour manager will also organize an optional shopping trip to the town of Moab for those who are interested. Tonight enjoy a cowboy cookout dinner at the resort near the banks of the Colorado River. Overnight Moab. (B,D)
Day 4 -Dead Horse Point State Park / Arches National Park
Breakfast is included this morning. Today you travel to Dead Horse Point State Park for one of the most spectacular scenes in the southwest. You will see the expanse of Canyonlands National Park stretching to the south and the mighty Colorado River 2,000 feet below. A picnic lunch is included. This afternoon, you visit Arches National Park for sightseeing and a short hike. The brand new 18,000 square foot visitor's center will introduce you to the unique geologic forces that created the highest concentration of natural arches in the world with over 2,000 named arches within its 73,000 acre boundary. Visit all the park highlights including Park Avenue, Balance Rock, The Windows and Delicate Arch. Overnight Moab.(B,L)
Day 5 -Moab at Leisure
Breakfast is included this morning at the lodge. Today you may relax in the morning or enjoy a full day of exciting activities in the "Adventure Capitol of Utah!" As an option,you may choose to experience the world famous Slickrock that brings thousands of 4WD enthusiasts from around the world to Moab as you take a 2-hour Hummer tour on the Hell's Revenge Trail. The cost of this option is $95. Or, you may choose horseback riding. Later everyone heads into Moabwhere lunch is included before you depart on an afternoon Jet Boat Tour of Canyonlands National Park on the Colorado River. The red rock walls reach 2,000 feet above you as you wind through the canyons and learn about the geology and history of this mystical land. After a fun day of activity and sightseeing, return to Red Cliffs Lodge.(B,L,D)
Day 6 - Capitol Reef National Park / Bryce Canyon National Park
Enjoy breakfast before you check-out and depart for a full day. Today you will awaken with the anticipation of seeing some of Utah's most spectacular scenery. Leave Moab and drive through the town of Green River, skirt the San Rafael Swell, and motor by Capitol Reef National Park where you will enjoy a picnic lunch before sightseeing ancient petroglyphs, beautiful rock formations, deep canyons and pioneer history. Enjoy a drive on one of America's most spectacular roads. Scenic Highway 12 has been designated as an "All American Road," the crown jewel of the Scenic Byways system. First, drive over Boulder Mountain reaching elevations over 9,000 feet with spectacular views of the Water Pocket Fold and beyond. Travel through Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, with vast expanses of cream and rose colored Navajo sandstone. There are dramatic cliffs, high mesas, beautiful streams and deep canyons in multi-hued colors across the 1.9 million acre monument. In the late afternoon, arrive at Bryce Canyon National Park for sightseeing and optional hiking. The hues and intricate shapes of Bryce Canyon carry even the most mature adult away into a fairyland fantasy. The Paiute Indians used a word to describe Bryce Canyon that translates into, "red rocks standing like men in a bowl-shaped canyon." Mormon settler Ebenezer Bryce, for whom the canyon was named, described it as "a hell of a place to lose a cow." After an afternoon of exploration, check into the hotel located just outside the park and join the group for a farewell dinner. Overnight Bryce Canyon. (B,L,D)
Day 7 -Salt Lake City Sightseeing / Tour Conclusion
After breakfast, board your coach for a scenic ride into Salt Lake City with a tour of the city before going to the airport. Please schedule departures for after 3:00 pm from Salt Lake City. (B)
