Online Sales Specialist

Location: Chicago, IL

As a Web Specialist, you will have the opportunity to combine your sales and customer service experience with your passion for travel to help customers finalize their perfect vacation experience. You will be expected to follow up on all leads and close sales by establishing trust, building rapport, and working with prospective customers to complete the booking process. The ideal candidate excels at technology, building relationships, client communications, and closing deals.

Responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls to web and other marketing leads
  • Respond to incoming email inquiries and online chats in a timely manner
  • Interact with customers via email, telephone and online chat to provide top level support and advance information on products or services
  • Identify customer needs and develop solutions to the needs
  • Collaborate with Marketing to identify potential leads, then contact, qualify and close those leads
  • Become an expert on Vacation By Rail's portfolio of vacation experiences - able to speak confidently and answer detailed questions from customers
  • Answer incoming sales calls during periods of high call volume
  • Synthesize customer feedback and provide recommendations to the Marketing team regarding customers' online booking experience
  • Alert and work with existing clients by reackills (internal/external)
  • Demonstrate a customer-centric approach to everything you do
  • Identify and use internal resources as needed to complete tasks
  • Support team goals
  • Identify, report, and help remedy issues that negatively impact your ability to close a sale or provide impeccable service to our customers
  • Perform other duties as required by the business

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of professional work experience in a sales and service environment
  • Computer literate with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Tech-savvy; knowledge of website operations a plus
  • Self-starter with hands-on approach and ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting/exceeding performance metrics
  • Excellent phone skills, prior experience in a call center a plus
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) and attention to detail
  • Passionate about travel
  • Experience working with baby boomers preferred
