Day 1 - ParisArrive in Paris today, and enjoy a shared transfer from the airport to your centrally-located hotel. Begin your sightseeing or acquaint yourself with the world-renowned Parisian culinary scene. Overnight Paris.
Day 2 - Paris City TourYour first day in the City of Lights kicks off with a guided tour by motorcoach. This excursion introduces the city by showcasing famous sites, such as Notre Dame Cathedral, the Panthéon, Concorde Square, Champs Elysees Avenue, Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower and more. Recorded commentary complements the sites as you weave through this marvelous city. As the tour concludes, disembark the motorcoach and enjoy the sites at your own pace. Perhaps revisit favorite sites from the tour, for an up-close look, or discover why France’s capital city is known to have some of the most beautiful parks in the world.
Late this afternoon, enjoy another shared experience, this time presenting the gastronomic delights of Paris. With the help of a local wine expert, learn how to masterfully pair wine and cheese. During the class, you will sample delectable varieties of each and discover the best matches for your palate. Overnight Paris. (B)
Day 3 - Paris at LeisureImagine the possibilities with a full day at leisure in Paris. From art and fashion to food, wine and culture, there are so many facets to this dynamic city. You may wish to look out upon the city from the top of the Eiffel Tower or to see the famous works of art within the Louvre. Maybe you will wander through the various districts with a baguette in hand, taking in the magnificent architecture.
You may also select an elective excursion to fill your day. Possibilities for these adventures include a Seine River Cruise, which departs from the Eiffel Tower; a macaron cooking class in the private home of a French chef; a guided tour of Giverny, an enchanting French village that played home to Monet and his family; and a full-day tour through the Champagne region, which takes you to the city of Reims to visit a gothic cathedral and Mumm Cellars for a tasting of famous Cordon Rouge Champagne as well as to Epernay for a guided tour of the Nicolas Feuillatte cellar. Day 4 - AmsterdamA private car collects you from your hotel this morning and transfers you to Paris’s rail station, where your high-speed train to Amsterdam awaits. This international rail journey presents vistas of the French, Belgian and Dutch countrysides, as well as beautiful city views, during the 3 ½-hour route. Upon arrival, a private transfer takes you to your centrally-located hotel. Take the afternoon to wander along the canals, bike through the tree-lined streets or seek out the city’s unique street art installations. Overnight Amsterdam. (B)
Day 5 - Amsterdam Walking TourTake the morning at leisure to relax at your hotel or to enjoy the colorful architecture of the city. This afternoon, experience the city through a local’s perspective as you embark on a guided walking tour of the city center. Points of interest along the way include the Anne Frank House and Dam Square. Following the tour, the remainder of the day is yours to continue your explorations. Overnight Amsterdam. (B)
Day 6 – Evening Candlelight CruiseToday you may wish to embark on a short optional excursion, such as a classic biking tour that presents historical sites, windmills, canals and charming locales throughout the various districts of the city. Perhaps a jaunt to Amsterdam’s beautiful countryside is more your taste. Embark on a journey to the edge of the river Zaan to visit the windmill village 'de Zaanse Schans', with its characteristic green wooden houses. Through picturesque Dutch scenery continue to Volendam for a city walk and the traditional fisherman’s village of Marken, situated on the shores of the former Zuiderzee.
Tonight, enjoy one final look at the city, this time by candlelight. Savor cheese, wine and soft music as you cruise through the illuminated canals of Amsterdam. This romantic mini cruise offers looks at the city’s incredible homes and architecture. Overnight Amsterdam. (B)
Day 7 - AmsterdamYour journey through two of Europe’s finest cities concludes as you are transferred to Amsterdam’s international airport after breakfast this morning. (B)
