Start in Chicago, where you will spend your first day at leisure to explore the city. Make sure to visit popular attractions like Navy Pier, the Shedd Aquarium, and the Magnificent Mile. Spend the night in the Windy City before heading to Chicago's Union Station the next morning for your departure aboard Amtrak's iconic Empire Builder.
You will spend the night aboard the train before reaching your first destination, Glacier National Park. Glacier is full of absolute natural beauty with picturesque scenery including soaring mountains, sparkling lakes, and beautiful aspen forests. After your day of exploration, take a tour inside Glacier before you cross the Canadian border to Waterton Lakes National Park. Have the opportunity to eat lunch at the famed Prince of Wales Hotel, one of the most photographed hotels in the world.
After you spend time in Waterton Lakes, head back across the border to Glacier, where you will embark on a tour of the renowned Going-to-the-Sun Road. Spanning almost 50 miles along the park, this special attraction takes travelers alongside mountains and showcases the true natural beauty of the park, including Lake McDonald. Spend your final day in Glacier on a boat tour of Swiftcurrent and Josephine Lake before boarding the Empire Builder for your journey to Seattle. Spend the last days of your Pacific Northwest vacation exploring the Emerald City, visiting iconic sites like Pike Place Market and the Space Needle.

Day 1 - Chicago Sightseeing
Welcome to Chicago! Take the day to explore the Windy City on your own. You may wish to take a walk down the Magnificent Mile for world-class shopping, dining, and attractions, or visit some of the city's skyscrapers for unrivaled views of the skyline and outlying areas. A pre-tour wine and cheese reception will be held to meet your guide and fellow travelers. Overnight Chicago.
Day 2 - Empire Builder to Glacier National Park
This morning, you and the group will enjoy a tour of Chicago. Experienced and entertaining guides will recount the dramatic story of Chicago's rise from the Great Fire of 1871 and how this city went on to become the home of the skyscraper and the cradle of modern American architecture. Upon the completion of your tour, a provided transfer service will take you to Chicago's Union Station. This afternoon, board Amtrak's Empire Builder west to Glacier National Park. Overnight train. Day 3 - Arrive Glacier National Park
Awake this morning on the train and enjoy the stunning views as you cross the North Dakota plains and travel over the spectacular Gassman Coulee Trestle. Skirting the Missouri River, you and the group will cross into Montana's Big Sky Country and arrive at your destination, Glacier National Park. Your breakfast and lunch are included in the dining car. After arrival, you will check into the rustic Glacier Park Lodge. Tonight, enjoy dinner at Glacier Park Lodge with your fellow travelers. Day 4 - Glacier National Park
Today, take in the stunning sights of Glacier National Park on a relaxing boat cruise. Your provided roundtrip shuttle transportation will take you from Glacier Park Lodge to Two Medicine Valley. Enjoy a relaxing cruise while listening to the Blackfoot Indian folklore surrounding this astonishing locale. After your boat cruise, the afternoon is yours to discover the beauty of Glacier National Park. Check out any sights you are itching to explore. This evening, dinner is provided for you at Glacier Park Lodge. Overnight East Glacier Park. (B, D)
Day 5 - Glacier National Park
After your included breakfast, enjoy a full day touring Glacier National Park. Begin your morning on the Old North Trail, one of the oldest highways in the world. See unparalleled views as you wind along Montana plains and peaks and cross into Canada's Waterton Lakes National Park. Enjoy lunch on your own and take some time this afternoon to explore this gorgeous locale. If you are looking for something to do, we suggest afternoon tea at the Prince of Wales Hotel, one of the most photographed hotels in the world. This afternoon, you'll travel along the base of Chief Mountain, the spiritual landmark of the Blackfeet Indians, on your way to the Many Glacier Hotel for dinner. Day 6 - Explore the Going-to-the-Sun Road
Today, continue exploring Glacier National Park on a Big Sky Circle Tour. Your journey starts on the rugged eastern slopes and follows the glacially carved valleys of the St. Mary's region along the breathtaking “Going to the Sun Road.” Continue down the west side of the park, where you can enjoy lunch on your own at Lake McDonald Lodge. This evening, dinner is provided for you at Many Glacier Hotel. Overnight Glacier National Park. (B, D)
Day 7 - Glacier National Park / Empire Builder to Seattle
Enjoy your final day in Glacier National Park with two leisurely boat cruises on two gorgeous lakes: Swiftcurrent and Josephine. You'll see many great sights on these two tours, along with several actual glaciers. Later this afternoon, you will transfer back to the Glacier Park Lodge to get your luggage. Then, you and the group will transfer to the Amtrak station and board the Empire Builder to continue your journey to Seattle. (B, D)
Day 8 - Seattle Sightseeing
Awake on the train and enjoy your included breakfast as you wind through the wonderful state of Washington. Upon your arrival in Seattle later this morning, you will be treated to an entertaining and informative guided tour of the city. The tour is fully narrated with stops at many of Seattle's hot spots, including Pike Place Market, Seattle's Great Wheel, the Space Needle, and more popular “Emerald City” landmarks. The afternoon is yours to grab lunch on your own and continue exploring Seattle. This evening, enjoy your final dinner with your group and tour guide as you reminisce about your favorite memories from the trip. Overnight Seattle. (B, D)
Day 9 - Tour Conclusion
Your tour comes to an end after breakfast. You may wish to extend your tour independently with a stay in Seattle or continue on for time at your leisure in nearby locales. (B)

Train and Hotel Accommodations
Hotels include Palmer House Hilton, Glacier Park Lodge, Many Glacier Hotel, Crowne Plaza Seattle.
Amtrak accommodations are available in Coach class, Roomette, and Bedroom. Coach accommodations include a reclining seat with leg rest. Roomette accommodations include a private cabin featuring two comfortable seats beside a picture window during the day, converting to an upper and lower berth at night. Bedroom accommodations feature a sofa and chair by day, and upper and lower berth by night. Bedroom accommodations also include a sink and self-enclosed toilet and shower. All travelers have access to the Sightseer Lounge. All meals are included on board the train.
