Spend the day enjoying your exclusive access to the Skyline Car with its 360-degree observation dome and the Park Car offering incredible panoramic views.
As you enjoy the passing scenery, keep an eye out for Watrous, famous for its mineral hot springs, and Melville, named after a former President of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railroad Company. Transfer to your hotel, located in the Historic Properties harbor area. Drop off your bags and head to downtown Halifax. Here you'll find art galleries, shopping, museums, historic sites, sidewalk cafes, spirited pubs, lively entertainment, and more! Overnight Halifax. (B, L)
Day 13 - Excursion to Peggy's Cove or Lunenburg
Today embark on a tour of one of the Maritime's most engaging attractions. Depending on the day of the week, you will either visit Lunenburg and Mahone Bay or Peggy's Cove.
On the Lunenburg and Mahone Bay excursion, you'll discover Nova Scotia's South Shore including the charming towns of Shad Bay and West Dover. The Lunenburg coastline is the setting for pirate and rum-running stories in the region's folklore. The area does, however, have a history of fishing and boat-building. In fact, Lunenburg has Nova Scotia's largest fishing fleet. Your tour continues with a drive to Mahone Bay, known for its churches along the shore.
The alternate excursion takes you to Peggy's Cove. This quaint village stands on granite rock high above the Atlantic Ocean and offers stunning views of the Nova Scotia coastline. It's no wonder artists and explorers have flocked to the area for more than 150 years! You'll enjoy a walking tour of the cove and village, including the famous DeGarthe Sculpture, a granite carving depicting the life and people of the area. There is ample time to explore the area on your own before heading back to your hotel with the remainder of the day at your leisure to discover Halifax on your own. Overnight Halifax.
Day 14 - Halifax
Your tour ends this morning. You may wish to extend your stay to explore more of Nova Scotia, or transfer to the airport (not included) for your return trip home.
