Viva Las Vegas by Train - 9 Day Tour
This tour is not offered this year. A variety of other spectacular train vacations in the USA are currently available for travel.
This train trip to Las Vegas is remarkable. It features a three-night stay at the superb PARIS Las Vegas Hotel, extraordinary dining including Lawry's, for the best prime rib on earth and great amounts of free time, for you to golf, swim, play tennis or even enjoy games of chance. We have left most evenings free, for you to take in any of the spectacular shows Las Vegas is justly known for. The PARIS is just a few minutes walk from Bellagio, the Venetian, and all of the other strips hotels, a choice location.
But, what makes this vacation brilliant is the train component. Guests travel from the Midwest on the famed California Zephyr with its magnificent daylight passage through the heart of Rockies over the renowned 'Main Line through the Rockies' of the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad. Happily, this is simply the first page in a trio of western highlights and the following day, incredible Zion National Park is our destination, with its red and white sandstone cliffs, a visual tour de force seldom equaled anywhere in the world. After three nights in Las Vegas; we travel south to historic Flagstaff, visiting massive Hoover Dam en route before the final scenic highlight of our holiday, passage from Flagstaff to Chicago aboard the Southwest Chief train. Following the old Santa Fe Trail (and Route 66!), we skim across the mesas and Canyonlands of the great Southwest climbing Raton Pass and crossing the Continental Divide over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. In fact, a Navajo guide is aboard the train for part of the eastbound passage to narrate and explain the Navajo culture. The next morning finds us crossing the Mississippi River with a fast short ride to Chicago. Both of our train journeys are just one night and offer great comfort with full dining car service and Sightseer Lounge cars with huge windows, perfect for taking in all of the West.
With fine hotels, superb dining, plenty of time in Las Vegas and the sheer majesty of the Colorado Rockies and Zion National Park, combined with swift and comfortable train travel, this program lacks only one key component, you.
- Train travel aboard the famed California Zephyr from the Midwest to Provo, Utah, an overnight trip of stunning beauty with a daylight passage through the Colorado Rockies over the Union Pacific Railroad.
- Overnight stay with breakfast at the superb Provo Marriott with transfers, taxes and luggage handling.
- Full day tour of spectacular Zion National Park followed by an overnight stay in quaint St. George Utah with welcome dinner and breakfast.
- Three nights at the opulent PARIS Las Vegas Hotel, located right on 'The Strip' at the choicest location in town. We have intentionally left plenty of free time for golf, tennis and even gambling. We have also left most evenings free for you to enjoy shows at your leisure.
- Exceptional dining including dinner at without equal 'Lawry's The Prime Rib' during our stay in Las Vegas.
- Scenic short drive from Las Vegas to Flagstaff, Arizona with a stop in Hoover Dam en route along with overnight hotel stay in Flagstaff and Farewell dinner.
- Travel from Flagstaff back to the Midwest aboard the 'Southwest Chief' train, an overnight journey of remarkable vistas including the Mesas and pueblos of Arizona and New Mexico.

Accommodations aboard Amtrak
We have included travel in coach accommodations aboard Amtrak in both directions. Coach seats are oversized reclining seats, akin to business class on an international flight, with plenty of room to move around. Guests who wish to upgrade from the included coach accommodations may purchase sleeping accommodations and pricing varies by date and room type. Like airline tickets, rates are less costly when early reservations are made. Both trains we are aboard feature full-dining car and lounge service regardless of your accommodation onboard.
