Milford Sound

The Fiordland National Park offers spectacular scenery of the Eglinton Valley. The valley was formed by an ancient glacier, and is now home to rivers, lakes, tussock flats and beech forests, all surrounded by precipitous mountains. Milford Sound is the most famous and accessible of the grand glacier-carved fiords scattered along New Zealand's southwestern coast. Mountain peaks with sculptural, hanging valleys send waterfalls cascading over sheer granite cliffs to the sea below.

Enjoy a cruise on the Sound under the famous Mitre Peak, which rises a mile high above the water. The cruise takes you past magnificent waterfalls and out to the Tasman Sea. During a cruise on Milford Sound you may be lucky enough to see a wide variety of wildlife, including seals, penguins and dolphins.
