Guided sightseeing of Vienna includes a visit to Schönbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Habsburg Dynasty. Travel by high-speed rail to Prague in first class, where your guided sightseeing with a local expert includes the Castle Courtyards and Staromestske Square, dating back to the 12th century. You’ll hear the inside stories of Prague's famous sights as well as what it is like to live in this city that has changed so much in recent history. Day 2 - ViennaDuring your morning guided sightseeing, visit splendid Schonbrunn Palace, former summer residence of the Habsburg Dynasty. See famous landmarks along the Ringstrasse, including Heldenplatz with nearby Hofburg Palace, the National Theater, the State Opera House, Parliament, City Hall, renowned museums, and the Strauss Monument - a gilded tribute to the great composer. Day 3 - Vienna at LeisureExplore at your own pace today; perhaps walk up to the Belvedere for splendid views and its museum with Klimt’s The Kiss. Your Local Host can assist you with suggestions. (B)
Day 4 - Vienna to Prague by TrainTravel to Prague by high-speed train (first class). (B)
Day 5 - PragueMorning guided sightseeing includes views of 1,000-year-old Hradcany Castle and a walk in the castle courtyards. See Staromestske Square, dating back to the 12th century and started life as the central marketplace for the city. It is surrounded by historic buildings, beautiful churches, and the Astronomical Clock on the Old Town Hall Tower. Also admire Prague's famous Charles Bridge, a masterpiece of engineering and one of the oldest stone bridges in Europe. (B)
Day 6 - Prague at LeisureYour Local Host will have many ideas for your day at leisure in the “Golden City.” You might choose a walking route of Hussite sites or shopping at the Art Nouveau Lucerna Gallery. (B)
Day 7 - PragueYour vacation ends with breakfast this morning. (B)
