Modern Slavery Statement
Introduction
Great Rail Journeys Limited is a global tour operator dedicated to promoting ethical and sustainable tourism. We are committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in our operations or supply chains. This statement outlines the steps we have taken during the financial year ending October 2024 to comply with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Our Commitment
As a global business, we recognize the risks associated with modern slavery within the travel and tourism sector, including the sourcing of goods and services and our interactions with partners worldwide. We are committed to working transparently and collaboratively to safeguard human rights and prevent exploitation across all aspects of our operations.
Supplier Code of Conduct
Our suppliers and partners are required to adhere to our ethical standards, with clear contractual obligations prohibiting modern slavery and human trafficking.
Due Diligence and Risk Assessment
We conduct risk assessments across our supply chains and operations, with a focus on identifying high-risk regions and activities, which includes auditing key suppliers and partners, and requiring compliance certifications from suppliers. Our suppliers are contractually obliged to implement due diligence procedures for their subcontractors, suppliers and other participants in their supply chains.
Monitoring and Reporting
We encourage open reporting through confidential mechanisms available to employees, suppliers and customers. All reports are thoroughly investigated and corrective action is taken as needed.
Next Steps
We are committed to continuous improvement by enhancing supplier engagement and strengthening our due diligence processes. We will also continue to collaborate with industry groups and other organizations to address modern slavery risks in tourism.
