After getting your footing in French culture, board a train for a trip to the country's eastern shores, to Bayeux in Normandy. Bayeux has many layers to experience, with its medieval roots and rich WWII history. Of course, no visit to Normandy is complete without a visit to Mont Saint-Michel, a tidal island that houses an imposing 500-year-old abbey. The tour guides were very professional and informative. Accommodations were very nice. Whenever we arrived somewhere a driver or taxi was waiting for us. The choice of sites was great.
