About the tour
The ever-changing landscapes of Western Canada await your exploration as you embark on a rail adventure from Banff to Vancouver and then fly out to the mystical islands of Haida Gwaii. The tour begins as you arrive in Calgary and are transferred to Banff, a resort town located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Here, outdoor adventures and glorious displays of nature's prowess can be found around every turn, and your time is highlighted by a guided tour of Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. Moving on, board the Rocky Mountaineer for an all-daylight ride through mountains, canyons, deserts, rocky riversides and lush forests to Vancouver. As you arrive in the city, a guided tour offers a look at some of the most beloved sites, including Stanley Park and Granville Island Market. From Vancouver, it is off to the remarkable Ocean House retreat on Haida Gwaii. This eco-cultural floating lodge is located approximately 90 minutes off the coast of British Columbia and offers endless opportunities both on land and on the water. Enjoy guided excursions to ancient First Nations village sites, kayak through calm waters and experience the tranquility of untouched nature. From wide-open mountain vistas to urban adventures and the serenity of a gorgeous island retreat, this journey puts all the best features of Western Canada on full display.
Arrive at Calgary International Airport, where a driver awaits for your private transfer to Banff. The drive is simply marvelous, with the diverse buildings of the city fading into the background and the towering Canadian Rocky Mountains coming into view. As you arrive in Banff, check in to your hotel, the Fairmont Banff Springs, and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight Banff.
