About the tour
Two big cities, three Rocky Mountain destinations and expeditions to thrill any adventurer: These are just some of the things you can look forward to on this 12-day train journey. The tour begins on the West Coast in Vancouver, where landmark sites are aplenty. It is also in Vancouver that you board VIA Rail's Canadian for an overnight journey to the mountain town of Jasper. Deep within the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Jasper offers picturesque scenery and myriad outdoor adventures. From Jasper, the tour moves to the resort town of Banff and out to the hamlet of Lake Louise, which is famed for its emerald-green lake and charming lakeside chateau. Moving back to Jasper, you will once again board the famed rails of the Canadian for another overnight journey, this time bound for Manitoba's capital, Winnipeg. In Winnipeg, you will have a full day to soak in the amazing diversity and fantastic culture that comes with a big city before this tour comes to a close. Keep your camera close and your mind open to adventure for this fantastic journey!
