Champlain Valley Dinner Train
Exceptional Green Mountain and countryside scenery await on the Champlain Valley Dinner Train. In 2018, the Vermont Rail System introduced this passenger experience that speaks to the nostalgia of early American train travel. Passengers are seated at tables for two or four in classic dining cars lined with picture windows. The train's chef prepares three delicious courses as the route unfolds, with each gourmet dish prepared in the onboard kitchen car.
Watch the sun sink lower in the sky while the train traverses the Champlain Valley and the meal progresses. The roundtrip route departs from Burlington and ventures through rural expanses where no roads travel, crossing bridges and weaving along the water. As cotton-candy colors overtake the horizon, the Dinner Train approaches Lake Champlain. Its calm waters reflect the sky's colors, providing a stunning conclusion to the three-hour train journey.
