About the tour

Few places in the world that can so delicately balance sacrality and excitement, but nowhere more so than South America - your hub for the next two weeks of adventure. Our time here is split between three incredible countries, each of which boasts a unique flair that keeps visitors enamored from their first minute on the continent to the last. The journey commences in Lima, Peru, surrounded by colonial architecture and centuries of history. From here, we fly into the Sacred Valley and find ourselves immersed in Peruvian culture, from its cuisine to its markets and rituals. The pinnacle of your time here is a visit to one of the Seven Wonders of the World: Machu Picchu. Next, we fly into Argentina's capital city, Buenos Aires. Enjoy three days here to explore, both on your own and alongside a knowledgeable guide that presents the city's juxtaposition of elegance and old-world ambiance. Delve further into the regional culture while enjoying a live tango performance over dinner. We end our time in Argentina surrounded by the unbelievable beauty of Iguazu Falls. Since this natural paradise is set on the Argentina/Brazil border, we also explore the Brazil side, called Iguassu Falls, and the Iguazu River as our introduction to Brazil. Our last stop is perhaps the most recognizable: Rio de Janeiro. This city is renowned for its liveliness and offers a highly scenic conclusion to this expedition. Ride aboard the Corcovado Rack and Pinion Mountain Railway to see the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, get an up-close look at local flora and fauna at the botanical garden, and marvel at the sparkling waters of Guanabara Bay from Sugarloaf Mountain's cable car. This tour is your chance to experience the wonders of South America with in-depth exploration filled with tradition and natural beauty.

Our tour begins at the Basilica and Convent of San Francisco, where we visit its beautiful courtyards and catacombs. Later, we see Huaca Pucllana, a structure that pre-dates the Incas. We continue to the upmarket district of Miraflores, where traditional stalls rub shoulders with modern boutiques. Overnight Lima.

Here, we set out for the Sacred Valley, stopping along the way to take part in a Coca Kintu ceremony, an age-old ceremony that involves asking mountain spirits to bless our journey. For the next two nights, we stay at the Casa Andina Premium Sacred Valley Hotel. Situated in the Peruvian Highlands, the Sacred Valley was once the beating heart of the Incan empire.
