About the tour

Watch as the warm hues of autumn overtake the landscape on this 8-day guided journey through New England. The tour begins as the group discovers the Colonial history of Boston. From Boston, we travel out of the city and into some of the best places for fall foliage viewing in all of the United States. The first stop is North Conway, where we will travel down the Kancamagus Highway and take a mid-day journey on the Conway Scenic Railroad. Next, it is a ride on the Mt. Washington Cog Railway. From there we head to Vermont where we board Amtrak's Vermonter. In Mystic, we will visit the nation's most impressive maritime museum, Mystic Seaport. Moving on, a Newport Mansion and all of the sites of Hyannis lie ahead. The group will enjoy one final train ride aboard the Cape Cod Central Railway before the journey concludes in Boston. With dinners that immerse us in the culture of New England, amazing sightseeing opportunities and ample time to explore on your own, as well as with the group, this fall foliage adventure is second to none.

Our tour director, Beth was a joy to be with. She was knowledgeable and personable. I felt like she treated us more like friends than just customers. Our driver Alek was the best we have on any tour. Loved experiencing fall in New England.

I guess I didn’t realize how much time we would be spending on the bus /train. We felt like we didn’t get the itinerary until shortly before the trip. I understand that we needed to travel so much to see so many places. Our tour guide was not engaging at all. I felt like we just needed to steer clear of her. I’ve been on many group tours and never felt so uncomfortable with a tour guide.

The trip was well planned and lead by a very qualified tour guide, Denise. The bus driver, Lucy was also outstanding.

The tour director and the bus driver were excellent. There was less time on the tour spent seeing the fall foliage and more time on Cape Cod and at Mystic Seaport than I liked. I would have enjoyed the equivalent of another day viewing the colors in Vermont and New Hampshire than we had. The only time we could actually stand and look at the colors were on the Kancamagus Highway and each of the short stops seemed very rushed with almost no time to explore and view the areas.
