Many of the line's trains depart from Hyannis and follow a course through Barnstable and West Barnstable, past woodlands, bogs, marshes, and sand dunes before arriving in Sandwich, the oldest town in Cape Cod. Those trains that proceed past historic Sandwich and toward Buzzards Bay include incredible views of the Cape Cod Canal - the widest canal globally - and cross the fantastic Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge. Select routes also travel in reverse, beginning in Buzzards Bay and concluding in Hyannis.
