Cape Cod Central Railroad
Cape Cod has long been a favorite vacation destination in New
England, with its charming towns and stunning coastal scenery.
While traveling through the region, the views are simply
breathtaking; however, they merely scratch the surface of the
immense beauty that encompasses Cape Cod. There is so much more to
discover on the Cape, including colorful cranberry bogs, undulating
sand dunes, and great salt marshes brimming with avian life. And
thanks to the Cape Cod Central Railroad, all these views and more
are brought to life.
From May to October each season, travelers are mesmerized by
little-seen views of the land and the water and are charmed by
sights of old towns and antique train stations as the routes
proceed. Many of the line's trains depart from Hyannis and follow a
course through Barnstable and West Barnstable, past woodlands,
bogs, marshes, and sand dunes before arriving in Sandwich, the
oldest town in Cape Cod. Those trains that proceed past historic
Sandwich and toward Buzzards Bay include incredible views of the
Cape Cod Canal - the widest canal globally - and cross the
fantastic Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge. Select routes also travel
in reverse, beginning in Buzzards Bay and concluding in
Hyannis.
The Cape Cod Central Railroad offers multiple levels of service
to its passengers, allowing each guest to have the experience they
desire. Classes may vary based on the route. Pairing excellent
storytelling with even better views and amenities, the Cape Cod
Central Railroad is an experience that presents the very best of
coastal Massachusetts.
