The Ghan
Follow the pathway blazed by Afghan cameleers in the early 1800s
on The Ghan. This 1,851-mile route offers an in-depth look at
Australia's unique regions, from the verdant vineyards and lush
forests of Adelaide to the harsh Outback, where vast red expanses
and staggering rock formations complement the arid scenery and
finally concluding in Darwin, which boasts a distinctly tropical
feel. Luxury and opulence are synonymous with The Ghan, and each
guest that steps aboard is treated to an all-inclusive journey to
remember.
For their time on The Ghan, riders may select from either Gold or
Platinum Class. Both service levels are all-inclusive, allowing
guests to sit back and enjoy the journey. All meals and drinks,
including fine Australian wines, beers, and signature cocktails,
are accounted for in the ticket price, as are off-train excursions.
Complimentary transfers between Darwin Station and the city center
add another layer of convenience to the journey.
While the onboard experience beautifully recalls the old-world
charms of train travel, it is only half of the equation. The
journey itself is filled with breathtaking scenery and
opportunities to explore Australia's interior. The Ghan's most
classic adventure on the train is the route between Darwin and
Adelaide. The full journey is made over three days and two nights
and includes time aboard the train and exciting extras at the stops
along the way.
