The trains was unexpectedly rough. There was no observation deck. The train toilets in two cars were not functioning. On the California Zephyr, we requested and paid for an en-suite months in advance and we were told a couple of days before that we might not be able to have one. We have medical issues and need these facilities especially at night. This was very uncomfortable and inconvenient for us. Also there was a rock slide which forced us to take a bus for the balance of the trip. As lunch was supposed to be provided I would have thought the train would have volunteered to pack us a lunch.
