Days 3, 4 & 5 - Crossing the Canadian Wilderness
As the Canadian begins its easterly journey, you will
travel through five of Canada's provinces, including British
Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. You will
pass through beautiful cities and charming rural towns, as well as
through the diverse landscape of Canada. In British Columbia,
plains and fields come into view as you move away from the Pacific
Ocean. Snow-covered peaks, forests, lakes, and streams paint a
picture of Mother Nature at her best. Moving into the Canadian
Rockies, you will follow winding mountain tracks through tunnels
and across bridges. Amazing vistas await around each bend, and you
can take them all in from your seat or from the domed windows of
the sightseeing car. You might even catch sights of a bear, elk or
moose in the snow. Approximately halfway through the
4,466-kilometer journey, the train will stop in Winnipeg, once the
capital of the fur trading industry and now a hub of history, art,
and culture, for a few hours of leisure time off the train. Wild
Canada begins to fade as the Canadian moves closer to
Toronto. Overnight train.
