spectacular scenes lie ahead as the train moves through Maine, New
Hampshire, and Massachusetts multiple times a day throughout the
year. This route opens a world of travel possibilities, allowing
passengers to leave cars behind and soak in the colonial ambiance
that can only be found in this part of the United States.

destinations, with the train making ten stops along the way and
traveling at a speed of approximately 79 miles per hour. The

with arts, culture, and old-world charms. Most of the stations
along the way are owned and operated by the local municipalities
and are within convenient walking distance of attractions of all
types. Passengers enjoy access to those cities and towns that frame
the Atlantic, such as Portland, Old Orchard Beach, and Wells in
Maine and Boston, Massachusetts.
Guests may select from two service classes for the journey,
Coach, and Business, both of which enjoy free Wi-Fi
Internet. Refreshments are abundant in the Downeaster Café.
Guests may purchase light meals, snacks, and beverages. Guests may
take these refreshments back to their seats, so none of the
magnificent scenery goes unseen.

Maine Railroad and its efficient operations, the Downeaster is the
premier way to see the intricacies of the region.
