Explore Germany’s two best-known cities on this Locally-Hosted trip to Munich and Berlin.
About the Tour
Lively, Bavarian Munich and endlessly dynamic Berlin embody Germany’s rich culture of contrasts. In Munich, you’ll drink authentic Bavarian beers, chow down on bratwurst, be entertained by the famous Glockenspiel in the Marienplatz, and stroll in the lovely English Garden (Englischer Garten). Outside of Oktoberfest, you’ll rarely see anyone sporting lederhosen or dirndl dresses, but don’t worry: the Bavarian tradition of hospitality and good humor is very much alive in modern Munich. Berlin, on the other hand, is a city in the midst of a rebirth. Only 25 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the city has attracted an influx of young, creative types who have built one of the most vibrant and experimental art scenes in Europe. This innovative and productive spirit permeates every corner of Berlin, from the Reichstag building to the remains of the Berlin Wall. Even among the modern energy, Berlin’s tumultuous history is a constant presence. As you tour the city, you’ll pass monuments from Imperial Germany to Nazi Germany and the Cold War. With your transportation and accommodation expertly pre-arranged, and the advice and guidance of Local Hosts, you’ll be able to focus on what matters: discovering all that Munich and Berlin have to offer.
