Day 1 - Budapest, HungaryÜdvözöljük-welcome! Your Local Host is on hand to help you make the most of your time in the “Pearl of the Danube.”
Day 2 - BudapestMorning guided sightseeing includes impressive Heroes' Square with the Millennium Monument, built in 1896, at its center. Behind the monument is a semicircular colonnade with statues of famous men who made their marks on Hungary. Statues atop the colonnade symbolize Labor & Wealth, Knowledge & Glory, War, and Peace. Also take a drive up to the Castle District with Matthias Coronation Church, Fishermen’s Bastion, and magnificent panoramas of the city and Danube River.
Day 3 - BudapestYour Local Host will have recommendations for your day in the capital of Hungary, such as where to try spicy Hungarian goulash.
Day 4 - Budapest-Vienna, AustriaJourney by high-speed train (first-class) to Vienna.
Day 5 - ViennaDuring your morning guided sightseeing, visit splendid Schonbrunn Palace, former summer residence of the Habsburg Dynasty. See famous landmarks along the Ringstrasse, including Heldenplatz with nearby Hofburg Palace, the National Theater, the State Opera House, Parliament, City Hall, renowned museums, and the Strauss Monument-a gilded tribute to the great composer.
Day 6 - ViennaYour Local Host has many ideas for your day in the “City of Music.” You may want to join an excursion to the Danube Valley, which includes Melk's Benedictine Abbey; take in a Strauss concert after a Viennese dinner; visit a traditional Heurigen wine tavern; or explore the Fine Arts Museum.
Day 7 - Vienna-Prague, Czech RepublicTravel by high-speed train (first-class) to Prague.
Day 8 - PragueMorning guided sightseeing and orientation includes views of 1,000-year-old Hradcany Castle and a walk in the Castle Courtyard. See Staromestske Square, which dates back to the 12th century and started life as the central marketplace for the city. It is surrounded by historic buildings, beautiful churches, and the Astronomical Clock on the Old Town Hall Tower. Also admire Prague's famous Charles Bridge, a masterpiece of engineering and one of the oldest stone bridges in Europe.
Day 9 - PragueFull day at leisure to explore the “Golden City”-your Local Host will have suggestions for you, like a dinner cruise along the Vltava River, the Krizik Fountain water and light show, or where to enjoy a concert.
Day 10 - Prague-Berlin, GermanyJourney by high-speed train (first-class) to Berlin.
Day 11 - BerlinMorning guided sightseeing includes the restored Reichstag, remains of the Berlin Wall that once divided the city, Checkpoint Charlie, and Museum Island. Also see the Siegessäule (Victory Column) and the famous Ku’damm shopping area. Time for a picture stop at the Holocaust Memorial and Brandenburg Gate, a classical 12-column gateway completed in 1791. Drive along Unter den Linden boulevard with the German State Opera, Berlin Cathedral, and the re-built palace of the Prussian monarchs. Also pass by Gendarmenmarkt, considered Berlin's most beautiful public square, where open-air concerts are often held during the summer months.
Day 12 - BerlinToday, maybe visit the Jewish Museum, catch the hop-on/hop-off bus, discover "Berlin's Hidden Past", or see Charlottenburg Palace. Your Local Host can help you plan your day.
Day 13 - BerlinYour vacation ends with breakfast this morning.
