Animals such as black and brown bears, wolves, lynx, moose, elk, caribou, porcupines and eagles call this park home.

From Portage, the Coastal Classic Train takes you to Kenai Fjords National Park - a place where marine life swims amongst icebergs, fjords and glaciers. Here, you will see humpback whales and orcas, seals and sea lions, otters, seabirds and so much more. The final leg of your trip takes you back to Anchorage and then out to Redoubt Bay by floatplane for guided bear viewing. Alaska was amazing. I am so thankful that we chose Vacations by Rail. Everything is handled for you. You go to the hotel, they give you your key, when you leave you hand in your key and move on. We had a full seven-day adventure we will never forget.

We had a fantastic time. Everything was well organized. The train travel was delightful. Meals were very good. The crew was always friendly and helpful. The Gold class was well worth the extra cost. We were very impressed with how well run everything was. Our only real disappointment was the Wildlife Center on the day of the rafting. It was much more zoo-like than I expected, and as zoos go not impressive. I would take it off the itinerary. We LOVED the rafting, the cruise through the Kenai fiords, and the time in Denali. We were happy with the hotels. The Sheraton in Anchorage was especially nice, but we also enjoyed the lodges. Our only complaint on housing was that the lodge in Denali did not have a fan and the temperatures were quite high while we were there. All the other hotels had either AC or a fan. The trains are a great way to see Alaska. We are recommending this trip to all our friends.

This trip was so EASY for us. I didn't have to pre-schedule tours or hotel rooms. We just showed up, and we were taken care of. I have already recommended people to take this tour. What a whirlwind. We saw so many things. It was the trip of a lifetime.
