About the tour

A fascinating showcase of culture and history captures your attention and heart on this 7-day tour of two prominent cities within French Canada: Montreal and Quebec City. With each passing season, the views and experiences in these cities change, finding new ways to satisfy your inner voyager. Festivals, outdoor escapades, and busy streets filled with life note the warmer months. As summer fades and the cooler seasons set in, views of changing leaves against beautiful architecture, Christmas markets, and even hotels made entirely of ice take their place to provide ample opportunity to get out and experience Eastern Canada.

Begin your adventure in Montreal, the second-largest city in Canada, with three full days to sightsee and discover. Montreal is an interesting mix of old and new; a cosmopolitan city with chic shopping, outstanding restaurants, and exciting nightlife, yet rich history lurks around every bend. Canada's Cultural Capital is home to legendary sites like the gorgeous Notre Dame Basilica, the famous Olympic Complex, and Mount Royal, where stunning views abound perennially. It is also in Montreal that you join VIA Rail's Corridor Service train to venture to your next destination: charming Quebec City. Spend three days surrounded by 17th-century architecture and uncovering hints of the past, which can be found down every cobblestone walkway. Visit famed sites like the Latin Quarter, the Place Royale, and the Basilica, or visit the quaint shops and excellent restaurants throughout the city. Quebec's European flair will make you forget you are even in Canada.

This vacation is also available from Quebec to Montreal based on your travel preference.

Hotel accommodations and motor coach tours were excellent. The train trip between Montreal and Quebec City was nothing special, even in business class. Boring scenery, which you can’t control. We loved our trip. All of your reps before the trip were exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful.

The overall trip was a delight. I wish that I had reviewed the 2nd hotel prior to the stay. It had 25 stairs from street level to the receptionist desk. I am age 70 and have a bad knee. There were several other guests older than us that used the same travel agency and had even more trouble in managing the stairs. A porter was not always available for assistance. The hotel was fabulous, otherwise. The pre-arranged bus tours were informative and fun.
