Day 1 - VancouverArrive in Vancouver and spend time exploring this scenic city on your own. Overnight in Vancouver.
Day 2 - Vancouver to KamloopsBoard the Rocky Mountaineer train at the Vancouver Station this morning. Travel from the coastal city of Vancouver to Kamloops, in the heart of British Columbia’s interior. On today’s journey you will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, through forests and winding river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains, to the desert-like environment of the BC Interior. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Breakfast & lunch included onboard. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer travels along the shores of Kamloops Lake into Kamloops. Spend the evening exploring the city of Kamloops or relaxing in your hotel room.

Day 3 - Kamloops to Sunshine VillageBoard the Rocky Mountaineer train at the Kamloops Station this morning, to continue your journey to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Once again you will be surrounded by dramatic scenery as you follow across ranchlands, along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels that form part of the rich rail history of the Canadian Rockies. Today's highlights include Craigellachie where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over the Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels, and of courses the glaciers snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Breakfast and lunch will be served onboard the train.
Arrive in Banff this evening and collect your rental car to proceed on the 15-minute drive to the base of Sunshine Village. Upon arrival at the base of Sunshine Village, you will be transported up to the Village either by gondola or shuttle bus. Overnight in Sunshine Village. (B, L)
Day 4 - At Leisure in Sunshine VillageToday is yours to explore Sunshine Village in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, 7,200 feet high on the Continental Divide. Surrounded by some of Canada’s highest peaks, Sunshine Meadows has stunning alpine trails, with views that are beyond compare. Known as Canada’s number one day hiking spot, there is no better way to spend your morning surrounded by nature. After a morning of leisure, you may want to take the gondola down and spend a few hours checking out Banff. In Banff, you can visit Canada’s very first Hot Springs, take a ride up to the top of Sulphur Mountain to enjoy the stunning views from the top or take a leisurely stroll along Banff Avenue while enjoying the stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Other local attractions include Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner and Hoodoo’s. Overnight in Sunshine Village.
Day 5 - Sunshine Village to Lake LouiseOn your way to Lake Louise take a leisurely drive along the Bow Valley Parkway for views of Castle Mountain. Be sure to stop at Johnston Canyon where you can take an easy 20-minute stroll to the lower falls or a moderate 45-minute trek to the spectacular upper waterfalls. Entering Yoho National Park on the way to Lake Louise, take a breathtaking detour to Lake Moraine and Valley of the Ten Peaks where the views are nothing less than spectacular. Overnight in Lake Louise.
Day 6 - Lake Louise to CalgaryEnjoy a morning lakeshore stroll around Lake Louise, or for the more adventurous, a hike up to Lady Agnes Tea House (1-2 hours one way). This afternoon begin your journey to Calgary through beautiful Kananaskis Country and the ranching regions of Alberta before arriving in Calgary. Enjoy admission to the Calgary Tower. Overnight in Calgary.
Day 7 - Tour EndsDrop off your rental car in downtown Calgary or at Calgary International Airport, where your vacation ends.
