Jasper National Park
Jasper National Park, nestled in the Canadian Rockies' forested
landscapes, is the ideal setting for an Alberta vacation.
Visit Jasper and discover amazing hot springs, tumbling waterfalls,
and mighty glaciers, and spot wildlife ranging from grizzly bears
and mountain lions to elk and moose. Not only is it surrounded by
scenic vistas, but this UNESCO World Heritage Site is easily
accessible by train - both VIA Rail and Rocky Mountaineer station here -
making it an exceptional destination on any Canada rail
itinerary.
Jasper is wrapped in superlatives. It is the largest national
park in the Canadian Rockies,
and it is home to the country's highest and longest aerial tramway,
the Jasper SkyTram. Jasper and Banff share the largest ice field in
the Rocky Mountains, and a visit to the Columbia Icefield is a
highlight of any Banff Jasper tour package. No Jasper tours are
complete without a visit to one of the most iconic sites in the
Canadian Rockies, Spirit Island. Tours in Jasper National Park can
also include a visit to Maligne Canyon, the deepest canyon in the
park, or Athabasca Falls. With more than 600 hiking trails,
designation as a Dark Sky Preserve, and copious outdoor activities,
there is no shortage of things to see and do on a Jasper train
tour.
