A round trip expedition from Anchorage, this 15-day journey pinpoints some of Alaska's most captivating destinations while also giving you plenty of time to explore the vast wilderness. Travel between cities by train and private bush plane, and enjoy the freedom to explore the open road with your rental car. In each stop along the way, sightsee in whatever way allows you to meet your travel goals. Enjoy nature? Set out into the wilderness for hiking, wildlife viewing or even glacier sightseeing. Desire a hint of culture? Visit local indigenous sites and fantastic museums throughout the state. There are restaurants, spectacular scenery and memorable experiences in each destination. Your Alaskan adventure begins in Anchorage, and from here, embark on an epic road trip to Homer, Seward, Palmer and Glennallen. Travel like a true Alaskan, boarding a bush plane in Chitina bound for McCarthy. When you return to Chitina, venture into the heart of the state to Fairbanks, where you will drop your rental car and have plenty of free time to explore. Board the Alaska Railroad and journey southbound en route to one of Alaska's most celebrated attractions, Denali National Park, where the stately Mt. Denali looms in the backdrop. From Denali, reboard the Denali Star for a memorable journey back downstate to Anchorage, following a beautiful route through cities and the pristine wilderness. Unforgettable sights and experiences beckon in America's Last Frontier.
