Zion National Park
Utah's oldest
and most popular national park, Zion joined the prestigious ranks
of America's
national parks more than 100 years ago in 1919. The park is
divided into four main sections - Zion Canyon, Kolob Canyon, Kolob
Terrace Road, and the East Entrance - and features a total of
nearly 147,000 miles of spectacular natural terrain. These regions,
paired with an extensive backcountry, make Zion National Park one
of the most captivating protected lands in the Western United
States.
Because Zion is set in the heart of Utah's Color Country,
colorful vistas surround travelers from every angle. Witness
impressive archways, deep canyons and wooded plateaus as you
explore the park on guided tours and independent excursions.
Highlights of any exploration include the West Temple and Zion
Canyon; however, hidden allures, including hanging gardens, await
at every turn. Whether traveling through the park on one of the
scenic driving paths or hiking through on foot, the ever-changing
landscape makes for fantastic photo opportunities and grand
adventures.
