Amtrak roundtrip rail vacations in the U.S. can travel west from Chicago and over the Colorado Rockies to Salt Lake City and San Francisco aboard the California Zephyr. The return to the Windy City follows a course through the colorful Southwest aboard the Southwest Chief. Set out through the unique landscapes of California, departing from San Francisco and visiting Yosemite National Park and the wineries of Napa Valley. There are also tours that highlight the colorful autumn hues and historical sites of New England. These convenient tours even make their rounds through Alaska.

In Canada, join a grand rail circle through the Canadian Rockies.
